Da "Gamma-Gamma Interaction Processes at Adone e+e Storage Ring. Measurement of the Reaction e+ + e → e+ + e + e+ + e" di C. Bacci et al., Lett. Nuovo Cimento, 3 (1972) 709.

The study of the interactions (1) e+ + e → e+ + e (hadrons, leptons) is an interesting field of research whith e+ + e storage rings. These processes have recently received considerable interest when they proceed through the diagram of Fig. 1a), that is through virtual photon-photon interaction; in particular cases one can extract from them the real photon-photon cross-section γ + γ → (hadrons, leptons).

The most usual interpretation of reaction (1) hase been therefore based on the assumption that the two intial electrons pick up a very small transverse momentum, and continue on the same line as the beams. This immediately suggests selecting events of reaction (1) at the Frascati storage ring Adone.

In the present paper we report in particular on the reaction e+ + e → e+ + e + e+ + e.
