IYL2015: nearing the finish line

On the occasion of the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies in 2015 (IYL2015), the Italian Physical Society (SIF) – Golden Associate of the IYL2015 – has been acting as “contact hub” for a number of national learned societies and institutions in Italy.

Many events, almost 100 bearing the IYL logo, have been organized in Italy all along the year, out of nearly 2500 all over the world.

In a dedicated page of the SIF website you can find updated info, namely:

- a news section.

You are still in time to send us news, in particular concerning events that may take place early next year to conclude the celebrations.

The official Closing Ceremony of the IYL is planned for 4-6 February 2016 in the beautiful city of Mérida, Mexico, close to the Mayan Archaeological Site of Chichen Itza and one of the earliest astronomical observatories El Caracol.
