La SIF si rinnova

Con il 2017 e il nuovo mandato del suo Consiglio di Presidenza, la SIF ha deciso di dotarsi di un vero e proprio "Ufficio Comunicazione", rinnovando e potenziando i suoi mezzi di comunicazione e di outreach su scala nazionale e internazionale.

Questi sono:
– la pagina web
– la pagina Facebook
– la newsletter SIF Prima Pagina
– il bollettino/rivista ad ampio raggio Il Nuovo Saggiatore con la sua APP.

Il nuovo Ufficio Comunicazione farà capo alla Segreteria di Presidenza e coinvolgerà anche il personale ITC, l'ufficio grafico e l'ufficio editoriale della SIF. Tante le idee sul tappeto, con l'intento di migliorare il servizio che la SIF vuole svolgere tramite vari mezzi di comunicazione nei confronti dei suoi Soci e di un pubblico sempre più vasto interessato al mondo della fisica.

Il tema della comunicazione sarà proprio al centro di un workshop organizzato questa primavera a Roma, presso la sede provvisoria del Centro Fermi, dal titolo "Science Communication and Science Museums: Prospects and New Ideas", al quale la SIF ha concesso il suo patrocinio.

Con il 2017 hanno anche preso il via diverse convenzioni e accordi di collaborazione tra la SIF e le istituzioni scientifiche e accademiche. Oltre all'INFN, l'INGV e il Centro Fermi, la lista dei nostri generosi sponsors istituzionali si è allungata e comprende ora anche l'INRIM, il GSSI e l'Università di Roma Tor Vergata. L’interazione culturale e operativa tra queste istituzioni e la SIF implicherà azioni sempre più significative e sempre maggiori vantaggi per la formazione di studenti e giovani ricercatori, e più in generale per la diffusione della cultura scientifica su vasta scala.

Celebreremo poi quest'anno tutti insieme il 120° anniversario della SIF, sia a Varenna che farà come sempre da splendida cornice ai corsi estivi della International School of Physics "Enrico Fermi" e della Joint EPS-SIF International School on Energy, ma anche allo speciale simposio internazionale "Passion for Physics" dedicato appunto alla celebrazione di questo anniversario, sia nella bella città di Trento che ospiterà il nostro consueto Congresso Nazionale, consueto ma ricco di novità (occhio!).

Mi auguro che potremo farlo serenamente malgrado i tempi difficili che stiamo attraversando. Questa volta, dopo l'attentato di Westminster, la mia solidarietà in questo Editoriale di SIF Prima Pagina va ai colleghi britannici.

The SIF revamps

With 2017 and the new mandate of the Presidential Council, the SIF has decided to establish a real "Communications Office", renewing and strengthening its means of communication and outreach on a national and international scale.

These are:
– the web page
– the Facebook page
– the newsletter SIF Prima Pagina
– the wide-ranging bulletin/magazine Il Nuovo Saggiatore with its APP.

The new Communications Office will report to the Presidency Secretariat and will also involve the ITC staff, the graphics office and the editorial office of the SIF. Many ideas on the table, with the goal to improve the service that the SIF is to play through various means of communication towards its Members and a wider audience interested in the world of physics.

The theme of communication will be the very focus of a workshop organized this spring in Rome, at the temporary headquarters of the Fermi Centre, entitled "Science Communication and Science Museums: Prospects and New Ideas", to which the SIF has granted its patronage.

With 2017 also several MoUs and agreements of collaboration between the SIF and scientific and academic institutions have been kicked off. In addition to the INFN, the INGV and the Fermi Centre, the list of our generous institutional sponsors has grown and now also includes the INRIM, the GSSI and the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The cultural and operational interaction between these institutions and the SIF will imply increasingly significant actions and increasing benefits for the training of students and young researchers, and more generally for the dissemination of scientific culture on a broad scale.

We will then celebrate together this year the 120th anniversary of the SIF, first in Varenna that will be as always a wonderful setting for the summer courses of the International School of Physics "Enrico Fermi" and of the Joint EPS-SIF International School on Energy, but also for the special international symposium "Passion for Physics" precisely dedicated to the celebration of this anniversary, then in the beautiful city of Trento that will host our usual National Congress, usual but full of novelties (look out!).

I wish we will be able to do it peacefully despite the difficult period we are going through. This time, after the attack of Westminster, my solidarity in this Editorial of SIF Prima Pagina goes to the British colleagues.
